Lacrosse at Worthington
Lacrosse has been established at Worthington for a number of years. Provision is provided both within the curriculum and after school.
Our Year 5/6 and Year 6 classes enjoy lacrosse coaching as part of their P.E. curriculum during the autumn and spring terms. These sessions are taught by American coaches affiliated to Brooklands Sports Club and are funded by the P.T.A..The after school sessions take place each Monday for one hour (3:45pm - 4:45 pm) during the autumn and spring terms and are also led by the American coaches. This club is offered to anybody who is interested in Y4,Y5 or Y6. The children pay for a small amount for their coaching during these sessions - approxiamtely £12 each term.
The school enters the area pop lacrosse tournaments at a very competitive level. This year, twenty Y5 and Y6 children were involved in the Sale Area tournaments, and a team of four boys and four girls progressed to the Trafford Area Finals.
