The Y5/6 class all thoroughly enjoyed their VE Day Celebration. The scene was set with newspaper hats, red, white and blue bunting and a ‘V’shaped table decorated with flowers. The sun was shining as the children sipped upon traditional lemonade and ginger beer and munched jam sandwiches, rock cakes, carrot cookies and of course good old spam! They all enjoyed a sing song of familiar war time tunes such as ‘Run rabbit run’ and ‘Pack up your troubles…’ as they waved our Union Jack flags in the air. Thank you to everyone who contributed towards making this a fun and memorable afternoon!
