Admission

Nursery admission policy

  1. Our Nursery class is for children over the age of 3. No places are available to children under the age of 3.
  2. Applications for places should be completed on a Nursery application form available from the Nursery or school office. Completed forms should be submitted to the Headteacher. Please apply once your child has had his/her second birthday.
  3. Priority for places will be given to Trafford residents if demand exceeds availability.
  4. The child’s name on the list does not mean a place is guaranteed, nor does a nursery place automatically mean the promise of a school place.
  5. Attendance in the nursery class does not prevent admission of the child to another school, although it is hoped that the child concerned would continue his/her education at Worthington Primary.
  6. Nursery education at our school is based on part-time attendance only.
  7. Under normal circumstances nursery places will be allocated by the Headteacher, bearing in mind the demands each child will make on the nursery staff.
  8. Children are admitted to the nursery in the September of each year. When the admissions have been decided upon, then each applicant for that intake will be informed if they have secured a place or not.
  9. Nursery admission is staggered over several weeks to enable the children to be fully established before any further groups are added.
  10. Casual admission to the nursery during the year will be made at the Headteacher’s discretion and place availability.
